Tools Make for the Best Holiday Gifts, Especially When They’re Rad

Posted in Uncategorized at 3:34 am by americancyclery

If you or anyone you know rides a bike with 15mm axle nuts, then I’m sure you’re familiar with the Campagnolo “peanut butter” wrench. Named presumably for it’s adroit ability to spread peanut butter, this tool also has a functional 15mm box wrench on the other end. Although originally intended for Campy crank bolts, it also makes for a great travel tool when removing wheels for flat fixes on track bikes. Since these are getting rarer and ever more expensive,  we had our mates at Paragon Machine Works make up a viable alternative.

Why bring two, when you could bring both in one?

Why bring two, when you could bring both in one?

As an avid urban cyclist I’ve always appreciated the ability to spread peanut butter at any point in my ride, and yet I never have. More often than not, I open a bottle for someone if not myself, rather than enjoy peanut butter. So that is why they’ve incorporated a bottle-cap removing tool on the other end of this little beauty’s 15mm box wrench. Throw into the mix that these are drilled for speed and lightness, plus manufactured from titanium, and you have possibly the best road tool ever made for the urban cyclist… unless you have a peanut butter fetish. I’ve been told as well that the Paragon Neo-PB Wrench also tastes better than any other similar product on the market…
