With the Amgen Tour of California in full swing, and trucking through our fair city as well, there had to be some two wheeled speculation in store. Some of AC2’s finest braved the elements to see the Stage 2 start in Sausilito.

Soggy Fans
With the quartet of Jim, Tom, JR, and Mike, thus formed the most handsome cheering section in cycling history. Judging by their bikes, it seems they are rooting for Quick Step or Saxo Bank.

With the unprecidented Golden Gate Bridge crossing of these Pro Tour favorites, it’s easy to see why San Francisco has the race fever!

But just as any good investigative journalist/blogger should, I checked out the cyclo climate of Modesto as well. With plenty of race fans sticking it out in the rain, the finish of Stage 3 in Modesto had no shortage of racing fervor.

Though most of the hoopla surounded Lance’s return, I still appreciated the fact that so many folks would brave the elements to support bicycling. Myself being one of them…

Hey, after all it is a sporting event! In support of Thor Hushovd, I wore my Credit Agricole cap and good ol’ Thor did not disappoint with his blistering sprint finish to win Stage 3.

This morning we enjoyed a visit to AC2 from Nick at Fox Racing Shocks. He took some time out of his busy schedule to park his big Fox Team Support van and run us through the function of their latest forks.

Nick helped us solve our own fork issues and also ran us through the procedures of overhauling their forks, such as the TALAS shown above. As to be expected, we were all impressed with their quality engineering.

Tom, Jim and Nick getting intimate with new Fox gear. While things may very well be getting smarter over at AC2, over here at AC1 we are getting a whole lot CUTER!!!

Meet Lanikai, AC’s newest hire. Her role in the team is to deliver cuteness and adorabiltiy all day long. She’s doing such a good job, she’s getting a raise. Lanikai is also getting bigger every day, so you’d better get on down here before she’s not a puppy anymore…

Due to popular demand we’re rollin’ deep in Vittoria Randonneur tires again here at American Cyclery.

Despite their hiatus we never forgot their Gobstopper layering for the hot skid-stopping action.

Big-ups to Dylan Bigby for his Dirty Rando Belts. Also droppin’ at AC is the new LTD edition PAKE, in gold! Wut wut?

This cute little number was unearthed during or basement sale. Definitely looking a little worse for the wear, we saw potential in this former ugly duckling.
Sturmey-Archered three speeds of Italian origin are quite rare, especially ones designed around 26×1 3/8 wheels. This one is an exellent example, with it’s subtlely smooth lines and a Dutch style fully enclosed chain guard. This is the espresso powered whip of a Dama of class and distinction.

The major process in this project was rust removal. The sad old dented rusty fenders were replaced by these polished aluminum Tanaka fenders. Also replaced were the old wobbly steel rims, with shiny new straight aluminum ones. 26×1 3/8 (650a) of course, what else would you expect?
